Julie with Santa!

We went to Breakfast with Santa this morning at our church and Julie got her first picture made with Santa. She did great! I was worried she would cry but she was just fascinated with his beard. I thought she wouldn't let go!

Overdue Update Pictures Continued

Here are a few pictures from our Thanksgiving trip to Texas.

On our way to Gorman for our annual Thanksgiving celebration with family, we stopped for a visit with our good friends Tim and Amanda. We got to visit for just a little while but it was SO good to catch up with them and hug them again. We miss them so much! We were so happy that they got to meet Julie and she got to meet them!

Here is Julie meeting her Great-Grandma Corley for the first time. We had such a good time with my grandma and my aunt, uncle, and cousins while we were in Gorman for Thanksgiving. It was a great trip.

The whole gang at my aunt and uncle's house in Mansfield, TX. We stopped for a quick but fun visit on the way home from Gorman.

It was a long trip in the car with an 8 month old, but she did great. We had a wonderful time.

And we're back!

Yes, it's been a month since I last updated you all on the happenings in the Johnson household. Well, we've visited family a couple of times, I turned the big 3-0, Julie got to meet her great-grandma for the first time and she started crawling. It's been a busy month. Here are a few pictures from our adventures.

Playing with the leaves with Papaw.

Getting into trouble already! : )

My happy family!

She still loves her swing even though she's growing out of it!

Here's Julie having a blast in her walker. She can really zoom around the house in her walker. Watch out kitties!

Happy Halloween!!

Of course my little Julie is a black kitty for Halloween! She had a blast playing with her pumpkin that we got for her at the pumpkin patch a couple of weekends ago. As well as it being Halloween, it's also Julie's 7 month birthday. She's growing so fast!

Cranky lady!

Julie is officially teething and is not happy about it! She's been super cranky and needy the last few days. I'm more than happy to give her extra loving care to help her through it and I am looking for tips! If any of you moms out there have any tricks that helped you and your little ones while the little teeth came in, please send your wisdom my way! It will be much appreciated!!
On a positive note, Ben has been great with Julie (and me!) while she's been a bit tougher to handle lately. He took the middle of the night duty with her last night and let me sleep all night long! And he took me to my favorite mexican restaurant for dinner last night to get us out of the house and do something fun. What a guy! : )

Weekend Fun

This past weekend Ben, Julie and I went to visit my family. Julie got lots of lovin from her grandparents and aunts and uncle and loved them back! We all had a great time. We just love going to visit the fam!

On Saturday, the city had a festival they call Old Fashion Day on the courthouse square with craft booths and crazy food for sale. We walked around and checked everything out, enjoying the great weather.

On Sunday we went out to a local pumpkin patch to pick out a Halloween pumpkin for Julie. She had a great time riding around in the wagon. It was a lot of fun!

Beautiful Day

We are having a beautiful day today so Julie and I spent some time in the front yard watching butterflies, the shadows of the leaves on the blanket, and a few cars drive down the street. It was great! Julie just laughed the whole time.

Latest Happenings

What have we been up to lately? Well, we had the baby dedication at the church on September 23, Ben's 29th birthday on the 26th, we've all had colds and Julie has an ear infection, Julie had her 6 month checkup and shots this week, and we've skyped with a bunch of family recently. Julie has also finally learned how to roll from back to front and back again and she's been learning how to sit up by herself. She's also learned that the cats don't care too much for their tails being pulled as they walk past her in the floor. : ) And she's finally big enough to be able to use her own chair that her uncle Chris bought for her! She tried it out for the first time today just to get a feel for it and she seemed to enjoy sitting in it. She loves to stand on our laps or in the floor in front of us and sticking out her tongue is a favorite pastime of hers.

I can't believe my sweet little baby is 6 months old! Where did the 6 months go? And how did she get so big already? : ) It sure has been a great 6 months!

Weekend at the Grandparents' house

Ben and I took our first baby-free vacation over the Labor Day weekend. My mom graciously offered to take a couple of days off of work to watch Julie for us so we drove to their house on the Wednesday before the Labor Day weekend and flew out that Thursday morning. We flew back on Monday, spent the night there and drove back home on Tuesday. It was great to hang out with Ben for a few days and relax! We went to Florida and went to Sea World and Discovery Cove. We had such a good time. And by the looks of the pictures that my parents took while they were watching Julie, they all had a great time too. Thanks Mom and Dad, aka Grandma and Papaw!!

Birthday Party!

On Sunday afternoon, we celebrated with our friends Brian and April the first birthday of their son, Jackson. We had a great time! Happy Birthday Jackson!!

Getting a picture with the birthday boy!

Hanging out with Daddy at the party. Such a lady, with her legs crossed!

Weekend with Family

This past weekend, two of Ben's brothers and their families came over to visit. We had a great time seeing everyone. We hung out, played a fun game, went out for BBQ and ice cream and just enjoyed catching up.

Here we are out to dinner with Claire, Paul, Taylor and Dan (Amy is taking the picture)

Julie with Aunt Amy

Julie just loved watching and playing with her cousin Claire!

New toy

We were given this Baby Einstein play center from some very generous friends at my shower at St. Jude back in March. Julie is now big enough to be able to play in it and she loves it!! Every time I put her in it she smiles so big and laughs and jumps up and down and just has a ball. And just today, she played so much in it she wore herself out. I was sitting on the couch and noticed that I didn't hear anymore noise from her and she was sitting in it rubbing her eye with one hand and hanging on to the dragon puppet with the other. Sweet girl was so sleepy, but just couldn't stop playing!!

Just Because.....

I love this picture!!

Escape artist

I put Julie down for a nap this afternoon in her crib and after hearing some chatter coming from her room instead of snoring, I went to check it out. This is what I found, my sweet little baby trying to escape from naptime!

Biker Babe!

Ben just can't wait to take his little biker babe for a ride on his motorcycle. He's already found a helmet for her! It'll be a little while before she grows into it so he'll have to wait a little while longer. But won't they be cute on the bike together? : ) And she better get a face shield or she'll lose that paci!

Superbaby!

We discovered that Julie L-O-V-E loves being held like this, like she's flying. She just laughs and smiles the whole time. She's our little superbaby!

Cereal!

This week, Julie began eating rice cereal for the first time. I'm sure most of it ended up on the bib instead of in her tummy but it was a good start. Ben was taking pictures of this occasion and Julie was a bit more interested in the camera than the food. She's on her way to solid foods!!

Bring out the spf 50!

At our church Lifegroup meeting last night, we had a cookout and the kids got to jump in the pool for a swim. It was Julie's first swim! And if she's anything like her mommy, she'll love the pool someday. She was a little unsure at first, but she seemed to like having her daddy hold her in the water after a little while. Here are a few pictures of her first swim time with some friends!

Getting ready for the pool

Not so sure about all this!
